Cocktails and Bar Things

RANT WARNING

I know that some people are sticklers for convention (mainly me) and if a cocktail is called a martini it HAS to be one made with gin and vermouth and possibly vodka. Just because something is served in a cocktail glass up (meaning the drink has been chilled by shaking or stirring and is served without ice in the glass.) doesn't make it a martini. Since this is my web site I will not refer to cocktails made with ingredients other than gin, vermouth, olive juice and occasionaly vodka as martinis, especially those with coffee, expresso chocolate or other sweet syrups and especially that apple thing. If these coctails are served in a glass usually referred to as a martini glass with no ice, they will be called "Up Cocktails"
